Meet Katie Honey and Dan Whalen, owners of Annadel Estate Winery

Katie and Dan arrived in Sonoma County before the fall harvest of 2020; however, their relationship with the wine regions of Northern California began a long time ago. For nearly the past decade, they have frequently visited the area, they were married here, and have dreamt about relocating to this region to own and operate a winery.

As the proprietors of Annadel Estate Winery, Katie and Dan will blend their professional backgrounds and personal passions to build a sustainable and socially conscious business. Combining that with the incredible terroir, history, and classical estate characteristics of the property, they will create amazing wines and experiences.

Dan, a technology executive, is originally from New Jersey, and Katie, who operates her own consulting business, is originally from Saskatchewan, Canada. They both share strong family values and spend as much time as they can with family and friends. When not working, they enjoy cooking, entertaining, traveling, and of course, wine. As trained sommeliers, connoisseurs of fine wine, and passionate gastronomists, Katie and Dan are committed to making fantastic wine and creating memorable experiences that touch your palates and minds. They believe that the best and most well-rounded wines that nature has to offer are right here in their front yard, and they look forward to sharing the fruits of their labors with you!

We’re also really excited about our two new additions to the winery, Bubs, and Magnum, our Goldendoodles. Since joining us in May and September of 2021, they’ve been growing like vines, learning the ropes around the winery and tasting room, and have been promoted to be our official welcoming committee!.
