Drew Damskey

Drew’s roots run deep in the vineyards of Napa and Sonoma, where his family has been growing and crafting exceptional wines for generations. His grandfather started the family legacy as a grower in Napa Valley, and Drew’s father, Kerry Damskey, became a renowned winemaker known for producing exceptional wines on a global scale. Drew has carried on the family tradition of creating outstanding wines from exceptional sites.

As the owner and operator of Palmeri, a boutique brand focused on showcasing the beauty of mountain-grown fruit, Drew works alongside his family to craft unique wines. He is also a partner in Suara Wine Company and serves as a consultant winemaker for several highly sought-after brands in Sonoma County. Drew’s contributions to the world of winemaking have not gone unnoticed. In fact, he has been recognized on numerous occasions for his exceptional talents.

In 2017, the San Francisco Chronicle named Drew a Winemaker to Watch. He went on to win the Pig’s and Pinot Pinot Cup that same year. More recently, VinePair named Palmeri’s Monte Rosso Semillon the #1 wine in the world for 2022, and Drew made four of the Press Democrat’s 100 Most Amazing Wines of 2022. Linda Murphy, a renowned wine writer, has also praised Drew’s skills, stating that he is well-established as a winemaker with his family’s Palmeri brand and as a consultant for several wineries. Drew’s passion for crafting exceptional wines has earned him a well-deserved place on VinePair’s 50 List, which celebrates the professionals who are changing the drinks space.

I want to make wines that show grace and elegance, but oomph, too.

– Drew
